BLAZE drama: the dense smoke rises from the garage.
PLUMES of thick, black smoke could be seen across Oldham when a fire broke out at a garage in Hollins yesterday.
At the height of the late-morning blaze around 20 firefighters were involved at the single-storey garage and tyres at WM Tyres.
The garage, off Heron Street, is believed to have been unoccupied at the time, but workers were evacuated from nearby Heron Mill. The bulk of the fire was put out by 3pm. The cause of the incident is still unknown.
