Judges dismiss appeal

A MAN jailed for his part in a drugs deal that went wrong and led to another man being stabbed and impaled on railings — has had his appeal rejected.
Jeremy Luke Kabia (40) was one of three men who met in an Oldham car park in January 2012 to trade cannabis. The meeting ended with one man stabbed by another then impaled on a metal fence.
Kabia, of Mansfield, admitted being there but denied taking part in the violent fallout. He was convicted of attempted robbery and wounding and jailed for seven years for being one of the participants in April 2013, after the victim told the jury Kabia had shouted “do him” before the other man stabbed him.
Kabia’s lawyers argued evidence that could have strengthened his case and cast doubt on the victim’s word should have been to the jury at the trial. The judges said the imformation gave little challenge to the safety of the convictions.
