AN Oldham netball sensation was selected for the England national team at the age of 17.
Alice Travis (now 18) was recently selected for the full England netball squad after impressing selectors at club level.
The Hulme Grammar School A-level pupil plays for Oldham Netball Club and took up the sport when she was seven.
She also won the 2014 Netball Superleague this year with the Manchester Thunder netball squad.
Alice went on tour to Australia with the England team in April. The talented teen, from Park Bridge, also made it to the Great Britain squad long-list for this summer’s Commonwealth Games.
Alice said: “I really love being part of a team — I don’t like doing things on my own.
“It makes me feel really proud to be nominated and to have been nominated by my school just makes it that little bit better. It’s really good to be nominated for doing something I love as well.
“Playing netball gives me a great opportunity to travel the world and that’s another reason why I love it.
