Ford Ka: ninth accident at the junction in around a year
A CAR ploughed into a give way sign in the latest accident at Waterloo Street’s accident-prone junction.
A red Ford Ka was involved in a smash with a blue Peugeot 107 at the junction of Waterloo Street and Rhodes Bank yesterday afternoon. The Ford driver was taken to hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be serious. The driver and passenger of the Peugeot suffered minor injures.
This was the ninth accident photographed by the Chronicle at the spot since September 2013, and the fifth since January. Road markings at the spot are worn away.
Angry drivers have called on the council to make improvements.
Work on resurfacing is due to start on Monday.
