No avenue is off-limits

LATICS STADIUM FALLOUT
A groundshare with Rochdale remains an option but looks unlikely and so is any chance of a development at the Kingsway Business Park, just off junction 21 on the M62.
The exit may lead to Shaw and Oldham, but Rochdale’s flagship business park has planning conditions.
These conditions restrict developments to commercial and industrial schemes, not leisure projects, according to a Rochdale Development Agency spokesman.
But there is junction 22 on the M60 at Hollinwood, Oldham’s major regeneration area. In July 2009, the Spotland outfit confirmed talks were held about the prospect of moving to a purpose-built stadium based somewhere between the clubs’ current homes. But it now seems unlikely this will go ahead.
Rochdale have refused to comment.
Chesterfield of dreams
CHESTERFIELD, who play their football in npower League Two, are enjoying life at the first season in their new home, the B2Net Stadium.
After departing previous site Saltergate, based in the same town, attendances have doubled to an average of 6,400. The match against Burton Albion attracted 7,700 supporters.
Better facilities, improved food and beverages and the installation of televisions inside the bars, has also led to increased revenue. And to top it all off, Chesterfield are top of the league under ex-Latics boss John Sheridan.
Media manager Geoff Mitchell said: “The move has breathed new life into the club. Everyone was sad to leave Saltergate, but it is a distant memory now. Those who had stopped attending matches have come back and they enjoy the entire matchday experience.”
