SADDLEWORTH Rotary Club president, Lawrence Perrins, brought a novel twist to his Charter Night celebrations when he introduced a “dress suit and flat cap” dress code.
Mr Perrins, who owns a plumbing and central heating business, said: “I wanted to make everyone feel really at home, and leave the event believing it had been a really worthwhile evening.”
The menu, at the White Hart, Lydgate, boasted traditional black pudding and ham and eggs dishes, and guest speaker was leading educationalist and author, Yorkshireman, Dr Gervase Phinn.
Around 100 people attended.
