OLDHAM sports star Becky Jones, who is stranded in the Australian floods, has opened her home up to two families she doesn’t know after their house was washed away.

The 26-year-old, who plays Rugby League, lives on top of a hill in Toowoomba, where the worst flash-floods hit.

Her dad, former world wrestling star, Marty, licencee of the Angel in Royton, said: “I spoke to her at 10pm last night and she said she’d had no sleep for 48 hours.

“They’ve no clean water, no food and no electric, but luckily the Wisenhoe Dam, which holds all the water for Brisbane, is holding out.

“She has two families she doesn’t even know staying in her house as they have nowhere to go.

“There are three young children with her too, but there is no clean water to drink.”

Becky said that because she is fit and young she has been asked to help the elderly get aboard emergency rescue boats.
