LATICS are kicking off a new fundraising appeal for Oldham’s new £44 million women and children’s supercentre — by stumping up the top prize in a competition to give it a name.
Hospital chiefs have thrown open the chance to name and design a logo for the appeal to everyone.
The person who makes the winning suggestion will get boardroom package tickets for two people to see the match between Oldham Athletic and Hartlepool United on February 1.
The prize includes pre-match drinks, food and drinks at half time and a trip to the boardroom to meet manager Paul Dickov, and his team, after the game.
Gordon Lawton, publications manager at Latics, said: “Oldham Athletic is delighted to learn of the new women and children’s development at the Royal Oldham Hospital and is extremely happy to be able to support it in any way that they can, be it financially or other methods.
“We wish the appeal every success and we are behind it all the way”
The appeal aims to raise £200,000 to support the unit, which is due to be completed by December, 2012.
Entries to name the appeal or design a logo, or both, must be in by Monday, January 17.
Artwork should be original and emailed or posted to Jan Bolton, Fundraising Manager, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Road, Oldham OL1 2HJ, or email charity@pat.nhs.uk.
