Help... I’m snowed in!

Tyler and his giant snowman

LITTLE Tyler Broadbent is delighted with his new den — a 9ft snowman made by his grandad.

Chris Broadbent constructed the hidey hole for two-year-old Tyler at his home in Jackson Mews, Watersheddings.

Tyler’s mum Kim Broadbent said: “The snowman is huge and very unusual. All the people on the street have been stopping for a closer look and taking pictures.”

Show must go on at Coliseum

THE SHOW must go for on for Oldham Coliseum despite heavy snowfall meaning some theatregoers have missed out on their dose of Christmas magic.

Families stranded by the snow resulted in a handful of unfilled seats at the theatre, as treacherous conditions on the road force locals to hibernate indoors.

But the theatre says that the the stars of this year’s pantomime “Sleeping Beauty” will be ready to dazzle crowds come what may. Penned by Eric Potts, the panto received rave reviews when it opened in November and prompted a queue around the block for next year’s extravaganza.

Lizzie Carter, from the theatre, said: “We didn’t cancel any last year and the snow was horrendous, so the cast are here each day and ready to put on a show.

“The best advice would be that if you think you are going to be unable to make it, ring the box office as early as possible to let us know. The show will definitely go on.”

Daily performances run until January 8. Call the box office on 0161-624-2829.
