A TRIP to the Chronicle offices inspired young writers at Alexandra Park Junior School to put pen to paper for their car reviews.
And bosses at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd in Warwickshire were so impressed with their work, they sent a brand new V8 Vantage car and two project engineers to visit the Oldham school.
The gleaming £90,000 model took pride of place as Aston Martin’s school ambassador Bal Choda talked about its production and design.
The visit followed teacher Maggie Buckley’s contact with the company to ask for any information about car models.
When the children wrote their reports, they were sent to Mr Choda, who arranged the educational visit, which is normally reserved for secondary schools in the Warwickshire area.
The Chronicle visit and car project were part of the school’s links with the wider community and its programme guiding children towards future careers.
