REGULARS at the Halfway House in Royton put their brains in gear to raise money for a good cause.
The Rochdale Road pub holds a quiz night every Thursday and the money raised from entry fees is put into a bank account. When it reaches £1,000, staff and regulars choose a charity in which to donate the money. This time, they selected Oldham Parachute Regiment following a suggestion from a regular who is a member of the organisation. The group was so grateful for the £1,000 donation, that they presented the pub with a special plaque to say thank-you.
