David Small... “an honour”
DAVID Small, a consultant at Mellor Hargreaves solicitors in Oldham, is the new president of the Oldham Law Association.
Mr Small (61) hails from the North-East but has stayed in this area since his university days.
He came to Oldham in 1989, working with Paul Mulderigg before leaving the partnership in 1999, selling his share to Susan Hargreaves and David Mellor who operated as Mellor Small for a number of years.
Mr Small has remained as a consultant at the personal injury specialists, now Mellor Hargreaves, in King Street, Oldham.
Expressing his pride at being invited to lead the law association, Mr Small said: “I have always attended the meetings and dinners and supported the association and am looking forward to playing my part in the next 12 months.
“It is an honour to become president and I am looking forward to playing a role in taking forward the association.”
He added that the profession had been through some tough times in the past 12 months and he is hoping to play his part in helping the association members have a better 2010.
He succeeds Paul Bradbury and will host the association’s annual dinner at The White Hart, Lydgate, on November 26.
