REVELLERS at Saddleworth Parish Council’s annual civic ball raised a huge £2,200 for charity.
The event, at Uppermill Civic Hall, attracted 190 people, and parish council chairman, Councillor Alma McInnes, described it as “a huge success.”
Supporters enjoyed a meal and dancing, and bid for a painting by local artist David Ford during the ball — the 36th since it was first held in 1975.
Proceeds will go to the chairman’s charity.
Councillor McInnes added: “It was a good evening, and I thank everyone who attended for making it such a success.”
