Pretty in pink... students and staff at Oldham Sixth Form College.
STAFF and students at Oldham Sixth-Form College looked pretty in pink as they raised more than £1,200 for breast-cancer charities.
Organised by the Student Association, the college basked in a pink haze as pink-clad people tucked into pink cakes, candyfloss and marshmallows, wore pink armbands, carried pink flowers and balloons, and lined up for a splash of pink neon face paint.
The total raised by the afternoon was £1,219 and still counting, as fund-raisers emptied collection buckets filled with small change.
The annual event brings in more for breast cancer charities each year, and is one of several fund-raising events organised by the Student Association throughout the year to support a variety of charities.
Sporting a fetching bright pink wig, college vice-principal Mick Walsh said: “It’s wonderful to see everyone becoming so involved in raising money for such a worthy cause. Students and staff have really thrown themselves into the pink theme this year.
“It is further proof that our students are very aware that there are people less fortunate than themselves, and will go out of their way to help in any way they can.
“The fact that we can do this and have so much fun is an added bonus.”
