DETECTIVES have stepped up their appeal for witnesses in the wake of the murder of Oldham man Amran Khan.

They took the step one month after the father-of-two known as Manny, was gunned down outside his bungalow in Nugget Street, Glodwick.

The 29-year-old died at the Royal Oldham Hospital shortly after he was shot in the chest at 10.30pm on Friday, September 18. He had a wife and two young daughters, aged one and four. Twins Brett Francis and Jordan Francis (26) both of Birch Avenue, Chadderton, have been remanded in custody on murder charges.

Detectives are still keen to speak to anyone who saw a BMW being driven erratically at about the time of the shooting to come forward.

Officers were in the area today to reassure residents of their continued investigation into Amran’s murder, and encouraging witnesses to come forward. Senior investigating officer Det Chief Insp Pete Marsh said: “We believe other people were involved in this incident and our inquiries are still ongoing.”

He gave the assurance: “All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and if you want to remain anonymous you can call Crimestoppers.” Anyone with information is asked to call the police major incident room on 0161-856 4711 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
