POLICE are still hunting a vicious robber who held a knife to the throat of a terrified 14-year-old boy at a bus stop.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the horrific incident in High Barn Street, Royton, on September 26.

The boy was waiting with a friend at about 10.40pm when a man walked over and grabbed him. He held the blade to his throat, demanded money and his mobile phone, then ran off towards Shaw Road.

The teenager was not injured but was extremely shaken by the attack.

Police Constable Vicky Wray said: “This boy was simply waiting to get the bus home with his friend when he was targeted by this evil man.

“He may not have been injured, but to have a knife held to your throat must be truly terrifying. We need to find the man responsible for this robbery and I would appeal to anyone that may be able to help to contact me.”

The man police want to speak to is described as white, in his early 20s, 6ft tall and of stocky build.

He had thin eyes and was wearing a black hooded top and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161-872 5050 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
