Oldham link to attempted rape

TWO men wanted for an attempted rape on a teenage girl are described as having Oldham accents.
The 18-year-old victim was walking past King George V Playing Fields, Canterbury Street, Ashton, at 3am yesterday on her way home from the Crow Hill area.
Two men began talking to her before dragging her into the park where she was pushed to the floor but fought them off and escaped.
Both men are white. The first is in his late 20s, 5ft 6in tall, with tanned skin and short dark hair. He had one of his eyebrows shaved in the middle. The second man is described as aged 26 to 28-years-old, also about 5ft 6in tall and of medium build. He wore a dark zip-up hooded tracksuit top. Both spoke with an Oldham twang.
Det Con Terry Farrell, from Ashton CID, said: “While incidents like this are extremely rare, I would like to remind everybody who is out at night that they should arrange transport and travel in groups where possible.
