Coldhurst Medical Practice opens on Westhulme Avenue.
POORLY patients in Coldhurst will find it much easier to see their doctor thanks to the opening of a brand new GP surgery.
The new facility is part of a scheme by NHS Oldham to increase access to health services and make visiting the doctor more convenient.
Coldhurst Medical Practice is located in the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust former Mediscreen building in Westhulme Avenue.
It will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8am-7pm, Tuesdays from 7am-7pm, Thursdays from 8am-8pm and Saturdays from 8am-12pm.
Patients can contact the practice on 0161-785 7030 or drop in to register.
Shauna Dixon, director of clinical leadership with NHS Oldham, said: “I am delighted that the new facility has enabled us to bring more new doctors to Oldham. This practice is part of our plans to work with local people to provide the access to health care that they need. The new practices will help us meet the needs of our communities as part of a network of community healthcare provision we are developing.”
GO To DOC will be running the practice in Coldhurst. Chief executive David Beckett, said: “This is the third of our GP practices in Oldham and we are keen to do what we can to make a difference to the health of people in Coldhurst through this new practice.”
The three GP practices in Fitton Hill, Coldhurst and Hollinwood will offer traditional GP services. They will all be based in temporary places while permanent bases are built or permanent locations identified.
