Robbery suspect shot three times by police

A SUSPECTED armed robber was shot three times during a police operation in Lancashire.
Two shotguns, a Glock handgun, a TP9 semi-automatic weapon and a Taser were all fired the police watchdog said.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission said shotguns loaded with special munitions were used to disable two suspect vehicles in the car park.
The handgun was fired once and the TP9 three times. A Taser was also used.
The 29-year-old Salford man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital and injuries to his chest and arms are not thought to be life-threatening. He has been placed under arrest.
Officers from GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group took part in a series of raids near to a Co–op store in Haslingden, Lancashire, on Friday as part of a pre-planned operation to crack down on armed robbery.
Brothers Richard Walsh (25), of Mill View Court, Heron Street, Werneth, and Jonathon Walsh (21), of Dob Brook Close, Newton Heath, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence and possession of a firearm in a public place. They were remanded in custody until October 12 to appear back at Manchester Magistrates Court.
