A chef taught youngsters the importance of healthy eating and how to cook up a nutritious meal.

Fresh from their summer holidays, budding cooks at Rushcroft Primary School, Shaw, learned culinary skills that will help them keep fit and active in the future.

Kasia Vosloo, from the Expo Chefs Healthy Eating Roadshow, visited to promote the Healthy Schools ideals and dish up some tasty treats.

Expo Chefs is a business that promotes healthy eating across the UK and offers demonstration chefs trained to entertain, inspire, and give audiences of all ages the confidence to cook with healthy food.

Kasia, who moved to the UK from South Africa, has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education and also teaches dance, drama and yoga.

Healthy eating is a priority for Kasia, whose work allows her to share her passion for food with children, parents and teachers.

She did demonstrations on making healthy meals, talked to the children about food that’s good for you during lunch time and the day ended with an assembly to reiterate the message of healthy eating.

Expo Chefs will visit 50 primary and secondary schools in Oldham over the coming months.
