Hurtling downhill at around 25mph protected only by an inflated plastic ball should raise plenty of money for an Oldham mother.
Stephanie Thompson (34) will take part in the new adventure game of sphering on Sunday to raise funds for her daughter’s nursery.
Two-year-old Olivia Wragg goes to Laugh and Learn Pre-School at the Greenacres Community Centre in Oberlin Street. And to help raise funds for a child size computer desk for Olivia and the other children, Stephanie and her friend Danielle Hayes have agreed to take part in SphereMania.
Two people are harnessed into the giant inflatable balls and rolled down hills reaching 40 kilometres per hour (25mph).
Stephanie said: “Olivia loves going to pre-school, and her older brother also went there.
“I want to raise at least a few hundred pounds, but the closer it gets, I don’t know what I’ve let myself in for. Danielle is my moral support, but we’ve never done it before.”
Their ordeal begins at 5.30 pm in Leeds.
