Teenagers show off their talents

YOUNG people have the chance to show off their talents at a special fund-raising concert for St Chad’s Church, Saddleworth.

“For One Night Only,” aimed at promoting outstanding local under-18 artistes, is to headline at Kilngreen, Diggle, next month.

Parish councillor John Hudson will compere the event with Nicola Jeffrey-Sykes, the organiser.

Councillor Hudson said: “I am delighted to help host the event as it gives children with real skill an opportunity to shine.

“This kind of event and its setting creates a good atmosphere and people genuinely come along to have a good time.

“It is a great way of keeping in touch with the public and bringing people together,” he added.

Nicola said: “The evening will be a real celebration of local youth — and we’d ask potential performers to make contact if they would like a spot on the show.”
