Give your views on Dovestone

THE future of Dovestones Reservoir is up for debate as residents are invited to share their views.
Public meetings have been organised by United Utilities and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) at Uppermill Civic Hall this Friday and Tuesday, September 22, from 7pm.
United Utilities and the RSPB are currently working together to look at how the reservoir and surrounding land can be improved for people, water and wildlife.
Roy Taylor, of the RSPB, said: “Dovestone is an amazing place with awe-inspiring scenery, beautiful walks and some pretty amazing wildlife. We want to hear from local people about how they would like to see the site develop into the future.
“Together with United Utilities, we are inviting as many of them as possible to have their say about what happens there.”
Peter Sharples, of United Utilities, said: “We want to involve local people in our thinking, planning and management.
“We have already asked hundreds of visitors to the site for their views — and they have given us a fascinating insight into their ideas and thoughts.
“Now we want to hear what people living near the reservoir think. We hope lots of them will join us on either of the two evenings to talk to us and share their obvious pride for the place.”
