A TALENTED photographer is well on her way to becoming a star snapper after winning a clutch of international awards.
Gaynor Wilson, of Greenfield, has scooped two top prizes in the International Face of 2008 competition for her snaps of two-year-old Lee Clayton and 11-year-old Oliver Green.
Earlier this year, Gaynor, who runs Shy Violet Photography as well as Grin and Bare It, also won first prize in another category of the contest with a picture of her step-daughter Jess Pearson.
The online competition is organised by www.photographers-united.com which Gaynor got involved with after joining the British Freelance Photographers’ network.
The 43-year-old’s interest in photography was sparked when her partner, Keith Pearson, bought her a digital camera for Christmas in 2006. She enrolled on an Open University course and was soon snapping family and friends in her spare time.
Now Gaynor, who works as business support manager at P&R Fire and Security in Lees Road, juggles her day job with her photography, which she does from her home studio.
Shy Violet Photography concentrates on family snaps including children, couples and pets while Grin and Bare It offers women the chance to be snapped looking their sexiest.
Gaynor said: “I was very chuffed to win the two categories because competition was fierce. The mums were also chuffed that their children won.
