Psychic Anne is a hit on television

‘I never expected to be doing this’
MOORSIDE psychic Anne Scholes was a busy career woman and mother of two young girls with her future firmly mapped out.

At least that was what she thought — but unknown powers had different plans for her.

Anne held a senior sales and training position with Avon Cosmetics before she was headhunted. It was a move which was the catalyst for a change of life which was far from the one she had planned.

The company she went to work for got into difficulties, and three jobs later Anne decided she was fed up of uncertainty and started to look for a new way of making a living.

“I lost jobs because the companies I worked for folded, I had two daughters to bring up, who were aged 14 and four, and it was a very stressful time,” said the 49-year-old.

Then one day, Anne decided to go for a psychic reading to get a glimpse of what the future held.

“The lady I saw said I was psychic too, and the spirits wanted to talk to me directly,” she recalled.

“I knew I was a bit perceptive, but never thought any more about it than that.

“It turned out I had a business colleague who was involved with the Spiritual Church in Shaw, and she invited me to go for meditation with its development circle.

“Meditating opened me up to information coming through in the form of symbols and hearing things, and it all went very quickly from there,” she said.

Within the space of two years, Anne was on TV working as a presenter on Psychic TV, an interactive show on digital TV. She is still doing it now, five years later.

“I have been invited to work on cruise liners, on the radio, and in different countries, and I did think about moving to London when I started working on TV,” explained Anne, who in her youth helped pioneer girls basketball in the town as captain of Oldham Girls Town team.

“But I was born in Oldham and raised my family here, my youngest daughter is still at school and I didn’t want to leave.”

She added: “I didn’t set out to do this. I set out to be a manager in a big company with a company car and a pension.

“I never in a month of Sundays expected to be doing what I am.

“I wouldn’t have discovered I was psychic without going to see a medium, and people kept telling me the messages I was getting about them were so accurate.

“But I must admit it’s been amazing, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do.”
