Bike-trap drama
Date published: 23 August 2017
A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy had to be freed from his own bike by firefighters after becoming trapped between the frame and a pedal yesterday evening.
The youngster had fallen from his bike and his knee had become trapped during the incident on Shaw Road at 7pm.
Firefighters from Chadderton attended and tried to dismantle the bike to free the boy, but were unable to do so.
They then used tools to remove a pedal and free the boy.
The six-year-old was bruised but otherwise uninjured and will be able to ride his bike again once a new pedal is attached, firefighters confirmed.
