FIREFIGHTERS were called to a gas leak in Chadderton after children "pulled a gas fire off the wall."
"Panicked" home owners in Prospect Road called 999 in fear the incident would "fill the house with gas."
No gas could be smelt by the emergency services but ambulance crews attended the property and carried out precautionary checks all the same.
National Grid gas engineers also attended to cut off the gas supply at the mains to fix the problem.
