PARIS bound . . . girls from the Samantha Jane School of Dance will be performing at Euro Disney
A CHADDERTON dance school is about to stage some Disney magic as they jet off to the Paris theme park to perform in front of thousands.
Sixteen dancers from the Samantha Jane School of Dance have been picked to appear in one of the resort's theatres and take part in a pre-parade show in one of the two parks.
Owner Samantha Greenwood said they auditioned by sending a video of one of their shows to "Take Us 2 The Magic", a company which specialises in arranging events at Disneyland Paris.
They found out they had been selected at the end of last year and have been rehearsing hard ever since for their three-day adventure later this month.
They will perform six dance routines - complete with super-quick costume changes - on stage and join the throng of dancers who help whip up the crowd prior to Mickey and co's arrival on the show-stopping park parades.
As well as fund-raising to help pay for their costumes, Oldham firms Kirkham Legal, JD Williams, MA Kitchens and Bedrooms and Corptel UK have sponsored the kit they will travel in and wear around the resort.
"It's just going to be a brilliant experience for the girls and something amazing to put on their CVs if they do want to pursue a career in dance," said Samantha. "We're all really excited and quite a few of the parents are coming along to watch."
