Woman in stab ordeal

A WOMAN is in a serious condition after being stabbed numerous times at an address in Oldham.
The 44-year-old was taken to hospital by paramedics where her injuries have been described as serious but not life-threatening.
A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is being questioned by police.
Emergency services were called to a house in Henshaw Street in the early hours of yesterday morning in response to reports that a woman had been attacked.
The woman had suffered multiple stab wounds when officers arrived at 2.10am.
Paramedics took her to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
A spokesman for GMP said: "Shortly before 2.10am on Tuesday, July 11, police were called to an address on Henshaw Street, Oldham, to reports of a stabbing.

"Officers attended and a 44-year-old woman was taken to hospital with numerous stab wounds.
"She remains in a serious condition, but she is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
"A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning."
A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We sent both an ambulance and rapid response vehicle and we took a patient to Manchester Royal Infirmary."
