PAUL involves the youngsters in some light training
FOOTBALL legend Paul Scholes was on the ball when he paid a visit to Mahdlo Youth Zone.
The former Manchester United and England star had a kick about with young people at the Egerton Street centre over the weekend.
In the morning, local businesses and football fans had the opportunity to ask Paul questions about his career over breakfast, with all funds raised being re-invested into developing Mahdlo's sports facilities.
There were then two master classes where Mahdlo members learned new skills and techniques to improve their game, as well as the chance to get photos and autographs.
Paul also became Mahdlo's first honorary patron, acknowledging his ongoing support of the youth zone through providing inspiring and aspirational opportunities for its members.
Frankie Byrne, Mahdlo's sports co-ordinator, said: "Once again, it's been amazing to have Paul visit Mahdlo. Our members get really excited about the opportunity to develop their footballing skills with a genuine legend.
"There's a real buzz in the building during these events and they all come away with increased confidence in their own ability."
