Marking parkrun birthday

BATMAN, Superman and Wonder Woman will be swapping crime fighting for an early morning jog by taking on the Oldham Alexandra Junior Parkrun on Sunday.

To celebrate the first birthday of the event there will be a special event with all young people taking part encouraged to come dressed as their favourite superhero for the run.

The pre-run warm up will take place in Alexandra Park fountain, near the Lions Den at 8.45am before the 9am 2k run start.

The junior parkrun is open to all children aged four to 14 and takes place every week.

New runners are always welcome to join in but must register online at www.parkrun.org/alexandra-junior
