DOGS will benefit from a shampoo and soak as a kind-hearted dog day-care centre raises funds for the Manchester attack victims.

Shaw-based Waggy Warehouse will open their doors to dog owners between 10am and 4pm this Sunday for a charity dog wash.

Organisers Waggy Spa and Waggy Warehouse had such a good response that all places for the dog wash were snapped up within a few days.

But they hope to accommodate walk-ins on the day and have also launched a raffle for which the prize will be a free grooming service for dogs, valid for 30 days from issue.

The Linney Lane shop will give all proceeds from the Waggy Spa event to the victims of last Monday's bombing and their families.

Co-owner Heather Screawn said: "This awful event has affected our customers, families, friends, colleagues, and our city. We want to help."

Heather, her business partner and six other staff members will wash about 20 dogs throughout the day as they do their bit.

Heather added: "They will feel good and look nice."

Winners of the raffle can expect their dog to receive a blueberry facial, de-shedding treatment and full brush. The chosen pooch will look pristine after having their nails clipped and ears cleaned as well as a full trim and style.
