GHEORGHE CIUCA
THE heartbroken family of a teenage boy who died in a crash last weekend have released the first photo of their son.
Gheorghe Ciuca has been named as the 17-year-old from Oldham who died after being thrown from a black BMW on Saturday night.
The Chronicle reported that the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash on the M18 in South Yorkshire.
Gheorghe was in the BMW when it collided with a blue Citroen Picasso.
Police said the BMW left the carriageway and ended up on its roof while travelling towards Doncaster from junction one of the M18.
Gheorghe's family released this photo of their son but have asked for their privacy to be respected during this difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers.
Two other men in the car, aged 18 and 19, suffered minor injuries.
South Yorkshire Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the BMW prior to the collision to get in contact.
They believe the driver of a blue articulated lorry with a yellow roof may have witnessed the collision.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
