SHOPPERS and families took part in an enjoyable afternoon of activities to help raise awareness and money for Maggie's Oldham.
Grown-ups tried their hand at adult colouring in while children got to grips with biscuit decorating as part of the Kitchen Table Day at the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre on Friday.
The activities were free, but collection boxes were available for shoppers to donate money to Maggie's, which will officially open on June 9 on the site of the Royal Oldham Hospital and will provide support for cancer patients.
The shopping centre has organised a second event, a charity fun day, on Saturday, June 17, to raise awareness and funds for both Maggie's Oldham and Dr Kershaw's Hospice.
On the day will be face-painting, balloon-modelling, caricatures, biscuit-decorating and a raffle sponsored by retailers.
Spindles Kids Club mascot Shopping Susie will meet and greet excited youngsters alongside hospice mascot Hope the Bear.
Volunteers from the two charities will be on hand to support the activities and answer any questions shoppers may have.
Centre manager Mike Flanagan said: "The Kitchen Table Day was the first event we have run on behalf of Maggie's. Not only did visitors to Spindles Town Square enjoy the free activities but we also raised awareness about the centre among shoppers and funds."
