GET ready to rock - the Cotton Clouds Festival is coming to town.

Organisers have now announced that the huge outdoor music festival - which has been secretly planned for almost two years - will take place on Saturday, August 12, at Saddleworth Cricket Club in Greenfield.

Cotton Clouds is the brainchild of locally based brothers Rick and Max Lees - two members of the now defunct yet hugely successful indie band Twisted Wheel.

The Cotton Clouds Festival is set to be huge, and will feature a main stage and two smaller tents. Those will be curated by George Craig - of One Night Only band fame - and Tim Burgess of The Charlatans.

The full line-up of artists will be announced very shortly, but established acts will feature alongside a number of locally based up-and-coming bands and artistes.

Rick Lees said: "We live up in Saddleworth and we've always thought why don't we try and put a festival on around here?

Demand

"We've got the space for it and the demand is there.

"I think people are going to be really shocked at the calibre of artist that we've booked."

Included in the team involved in setting the festival up will be several experienced professionals who are sure to deliver a quite sparkling spectacle for music fans across the region.
