POLICE hunting this man after Chadderton robbery
POLICE are hunting a man who carried out an 'extremely frightening' knife robbery at a supermarket in Oldham.
The man threatened a cashier at Heron Foods in Chadderton Precinct with a knife before stealing money from the till on Saturday, March 4.
At 5.15pm the man entered the store and bought a loaf of bread. After paying for the bread he pulled out a knife and held it to the till worker and demanded she open the till.
The worker then went to get another member of staff while the offender tried to prize open the till.
After breaking into the till he walked out of the shop towards Middleton Road with a quantity of cash.
Police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to identify and are urging the public to come forward.
PC Zee Hussain, from GMP's Oldham borough, said: "This was extremely frightening for the staff in the shop and I am just thankful no one was hurt.
"I'm asking the public to please contact police if you recognise the man pictured or have any information about him."
