POSITIVE Steps is to spice up its fundraising efforts with a Gala Curry Night.

The charity recently announced it aims to raise £10,000 for the Oldham Young Carers service to buy equipment for the young carers and also funding residential trips and residentials.

The Gala Curry Night event will take place on Thursday, March 30 at the Blue Tiffin on Higginshaw Lane, Royton.

The event includes an Indian banquet plus a charity raffle, and it will also feature music from Patelvis (pictured), "the Indian Elvis".

Positive Steps is asking local businesses to donate raffle prizes to help with its target, with all donations being acknowledged during the fundraising publicity, and on the Gala Night.

As well as the Gala, a host of activities and events (titled Challenge 2017) will be taking place including a virtual Climb Everest challenge (April), a fashion show (May), a charity football tournament and more.

Staff from Positive Steps recently started fundraising by taking part in a nine-mile run and walk from both their offices in Ashton and Rochdale to the head office on Union Street in Oldham.

Challenge 2017 will finish in July, when 14 members of Positive Steps staff will run and walk the "Race to the Stones", a two-day ultra-marathon covering 100km along the Ridgeway, one of the oldest paths in Britain.
