THERE'S just no stopping her now.
Little Millie Moran has now got her new wheels thanks to incredible public spiritedness which started with a dream to send her to Disney World in Florida.
After Tesco took up the gauntlet to help hit the £10,000 target set by Millie's gran, Vicky Shaw, last April, the pounds quickly rolled in, taking the fund to almost £25,000 in just three weeks.
The extra cash meant the family could afford to buy five-year-old Millie - who was born with a rare form of spina bifida and hydrocephalus and suffers from a potentially life-threatening lung disease - a motorised wheelchair to give her the freedom she's always craved.
Thanks to the expertise of Millercare Oldham, she finally got in the driving seat, surrounded by some of those who have helped to make her dreams come true, at Tesco Oldham.
Tesco Oldham manager Andrew Brown, who helped initiate the Greater Manchester-wide fundraising said: "We are so pleased to have been able to support the fundraising campaign for Millie's dream.
"Initially, this was to help fund her trip to Disney World, but following the fantastic response and generosity of our customers and community, the amount raised has meant that Millie could also get this amazing wheelchair.
"She was so excited when we presented her with her new chair, her face was a picture. She was quickly whizzing around the store and it is clear the new chair will open up a whole new world for Millie."
Her dad Michael was there to witness Millie - who no longer needs oxygen and is excitedly waiting to find out from doctors when she can jet off to Disney World - riding around in her chair for the first time.
"Millie absolutely loves the chair.
"I can see how much more independence she will have now. As the chair can raise up, it means she has a better view of things around her.
"I want to thank my mum for all the fundraising and to everyone at Tesco for playing a big part in raising money to help my daughter. I also want to thank Andy at Millercare for his expertise. I just can't thank everyone enough for what they've done for Millie."
