Woman badly hurt in crash

A WOMAN was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital with serious leg injuries after an incident involving a car in Lees.
Emergency services were called to High Street where the woman, who is understood to be in her 30s, was tended to outside the Red Lion pub.
Staff at both The Village Tea Room and the Red Lion confirmed that a woman lying on the pavement was seen to by paramedics yesterday afternoon.
Trapped
A North-West Ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called shortly after 1pm to a road incident involving a pedestrian. She sustained leg injuries.
"A road ambulance attended as well as two hazardous area response vehicles as it was believed she was trapped."
A police spokesman said: "The woman was partially trapped and the fire service was called to move her.
"She was taken to hospital with a broken leg. The road was blocked while emergency services were at the scene."
