Teen held after man assaulted

POLICE investigating an attack on a man in Shaw have arrested a teenager.
At around 12.55am on Saturday, January 28, a 55-year-old man was walking along the bridge of Linney Lane.
As he tried to pass a group of teenagers they shouted aggressively at him before one of them punched him in the face.
The victim tried to run away but was followed and kicked to the ground. He was then kicked in the back and head which knocked him unconscious.
When he regained consciousness he saw the group of teenagers walking onto Oak Street before taking the first right. He suffered a three-inch cut to his arm, which required 10 stitches, a cut to his head, lip, left shoulder and knee.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed to April 7.
