SARAH Ogden has launched "Cinderella's" which offers prom dresses for free
FAIRY godmother Sarah Odgen is preparing to sprinkle her prom-dress magic again and she's hoping her "sisters" will help her out.
Sarah, who set up "Cinderella's" in May last year to give girls something gorgeous to wear for their school prom, is staging a ladies fundraising night to help her roll out the sparkling service even further.
Sarah, a mobile dog groomer by day, from Moorside, was so overwhelmed by donations of glamorous dresses, shoes, bags and tiaras she's had to hire premises to store them.
Grotton One Hair and Beauty Salon kindly offered Sarah a room to store the glittering gathering of clothes and accessories, so she's staging the fundraiser to help pay for the nominal rent to maintain and expand the service.
The event at Milan Bar, in Lees, on March 9, will feature singer Rebecca Whitehead, bag and jewellery stalls, tombolas, tarot card readings and games.
"It will be a fun girlie night," Sarah said.
"Hopefully we can raise enough to pay for a year's rent which is just £10 a week. I'm so grateful to Grotton One for the room. I ended up with so many dresses they were taking over my house and I had to find somewhere to store them. I have over 100 now.
"I'll be contacting schools soon and giving them leaflets to hand out to girls who may want to use Cinderella's this year. I've had to put a system in place where all the referrals come through the schools so that the services reaches the right people."
Sarah is still appealing for unwanted prom and special occasion wear to add to her collection.
If you have something to donate contact her on 07940 908772 or message her through her "Sarah's Cinderellas" Facebook page.
Tickets for the ladies event are £5 and available by calling Sarah or from Milan Bar.
