A ROYTON restaurant curried favour with the armed forces when it held a "Tikka for the Troops" event.
The award-winning Blue Tiffin hosted a Big Curry night for ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the Army's National Charity, raising £400 that will go towards helping soldiers and veterans in need.
Every year thousands of people, groups of friends, and businesses across the UK raise money for The Soldiers' Charity by hosting a Big Curry.
All of the money raised by Blue Tiffin will go directly to helping to support soldiers, veterans and their immediate families who may be in need of assistance. In the last year the charity gave grants to nearly 5,000 individuals and 88 other specialist charities that support the wider Army family.
A restaurant spokesman said: "We believe that soldiers do a great job for our country and they need our support, that's why we decided to do the Tikka for the Troops."
Brig Robin Bacon, chief of staff at ABF The Soldiers' Charity, said: "Curry and the British Army go hand-in-hand; you'll always find a curry in a ration pack or in a mess hall!
"We really appreciate the effort Blue Tiffin has gone to, hosting a Big Curry night and raising money for The Soldiers' Charity.
"Their spicy delights will go some way to helping all those the charity supports."
