MOTORISTS are continuing to ignore new road arrangements in Oldham town centre - despite the council tripling the number of no entry signs.
The Chronicle reported how drivers were flouting new road arrangements after the reopening of Greaves Street saw Oldham Council put a new system in place which effectively make Yorkshire Street a one-way system.
After motorists ignored a no entry sign on Yorkshire Street, council workers put an extra two signs up.
But a Chronicle photographer caught drivers continuing to pass the signs and continue the wrong way up the street.
Drivers using Retiro Street had previously ignored huge lettering on the road saying "turn right" to turn left.
Greaves Street had been temporarily closed for a number of months to allow for the transformation of the old town hall into a new Odeon cinema and restaurant complex.
Drivers using Greaves Street must now turn right down Yorkshire Street and all access to Church Terrace is via Lord Street.
Traffic on Retiro Street must turn right down Yorkshire Street and traffic on St Mary's Way must turn left down Yorkshire Street.
Traffic wanting to access Queen Street from St Mary's Way will have to use Waterloo Street and Union Street. Vehicles wanting to access St Mary's Way from Union Street will have to use Greaves Street.
