STAFF and customers from The George Tavern with their take on Band Aid
THIS is the brilliant moment a pub landlord shows off his inner Bob Geldof after teaming up with staff and punters for their very own version of Band Aid.
The George Tavern's light-hearted rendition of Do They Know It's Christmas has been viewed more than 13,000 times in days.
Filmed and edited in just three hours, the video shows around 15 employees and customers of the Oldham pub in Christmas onesies and festive jumpers singing along to the charity track.
They are on stage, behind the bar, outside, and even singing from windows.
Landlord George told the Chronicle: "It was just a fun thing to do.
"We were in the pub, something came up on the TV and it gave us the idea. Someone said let's do it and we did.
"It was all done in three hours the next morning. We just said on the Saturday, anyone who wants to get involved be here for 11am tomorrow morning.
"We recorded all of the voices first, then it was all filmed and edited on an iPhone.
"It's a great song and everyone got a part.
"It was a lot of fun!"
George (37) says the pub, in George Street, has a great community spirit and customers have helped to raise hundreds of pounds for charity over the past year.
He added: "We are a big supporter of local causes too. If someone asks us to help we always will."
