FIREFIGHTERS remain at the site of the Maple Mill inferno tackling pockets of fire while the building is being demolished - a full SIX days after the blaze began.
Chronicle photographer Darren Robinson captured these latest shots of the devastation which has left the Cardwell Street site a charred wasteland. Two aerial appliances and support engines were at the incident yesterday, reduced to two engines through the night.
The fire service is continuing to ask local residents to keep windows and doors closed while smoke is present.
Householders no longer affected by smoke are advised to open windows and ventilate their homes.
