Photos released of hurt woman

POLICE have released photos of a woman who is in critical condition in hospital in Oldham.

Forensic officers have been at Waterloo Street for over a week, after Gemma Baker, 26, was found with serious head injuries shortly after 8.15pm on Monday, December 12.

Police were called by the ambulance service to the property in Glodwick, following concerns for the woman.

She was then taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

Her injuries are being treated as suspicious and an investigation has been launched.

DI Kenny Blain, from Oldham CID, said: "A woman is in hospital with serious injuries and we are offering her family support at this worrying time.

"A team of officers is working to establish what happened to Gemma and we have released photos of her in the hope that it will jog's someone's memory.

"If you saw Gemma on Monday, December 12, or know her and had any contact with her recently, you may be able to help. Whatever information you may have, no matter how small or insignificant you think it is, please get in touch.

"You can speak to us in confidence, or if you don't feel you can talk to police but you have information, you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.

"Your information might just prove vital to piecing together what happened to Gemma."
