ONE of Greenfield's letter boxes was damaged and Christmas cards stolen.
CHRISTMAS mail has gone missing after a post box in Greenfield was targeted by vandals.
Resident Diane Livesey who lives on the road where the damage was done described the act as "shocking".
Post had been stolen and the front panel of the letter box, situated at the corner of Manchester Road and Dacres Road, was left lying on the pavement.
Ms Livesey, who spotted the vandalism while walking her dog, said: "It is shocking that there are such low life people out there doing things like this and it is also concerning what implements they have with them to do such damage.
"I don't know if anyone had reported it before me or found any mail."
The resident, who found the post box smashed and emptied reported it to the police on Monday morning.
Greater Manchester Police said: "The damage has been reported to us. It happened some time between Saturday at 1pm and Monday at 9am.
"Someone has approached the post box, forcing it open, damaging the door and taking all of the mail."
