AN OLDHAM great-grandmother has died just months after organising her own 100th birthday party.
Inspirational Eva Radcliffe, who has lived in Hollinwood most of her life, celebrated her centenary in April but sadly passed away on Monday.
Friends had helped her turn Walker's Road Community Centre into a party venue when she celebrated her 100th birthday.
She had wanted to organise the event to says thanks to those who had supported her and remained active, regularly visiting the centre and playing bingo.
Eva made the headlines with her party, telling the Chronicle on her big day: "The party is lovely with all my friends and family here.
"I go out and spend a lot of time with everyone here at the centre and it's nice to see them all here."
Friend Barbara Micklethwaite had said: "She's such a wonderful person and was always so interested in what was going on.
"She is very proud of her family and what they have achieved and she is just an inspiration."
Eva lost her husband Albert in the early 2000s and was a mother-of-two, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her funeral is yet to be arranged.
