TWO further drop-in sessions have been arranged so residents take part in the consultation on the draft version of the (GMSF).

The GMSF sets out a 20-year plan to provide housing and investment opportunities for sustainable growth over the next 20 years.

It identifies a need for 227,200 new homes across Greater Manchester by 2035 - including 13,700 of them in Oldham.

As part of the plan, housing and employment areas have been earmarked, with the building of thousands of new homes proposed for areas of Oldham's green belt.

Oldham areas listed in the proposal include Broadment Moss (1,000 new homes and employment floorspace), Cowlishaw (640 new homes), Beal Valley (900 new homes) and Hanging Chadder (600 new homes).
