A BIG thanks . . . from left, Millie, mum Emma Clarke, Angela Mullarkey, Andrew Brown store manager and Nicola White
LITTLE Millie Moran got to play real life shops - and her first customer was none other then gold medal Olympian Nicola White!
Millie was invited into Tesco Oldham Extra as the supermarket giant launched a Greater Manchester fundraising drive to help her realise her Disney World dream.
But not only did she get to work on the tills, she also got to check out Oldham GB hockey star Nicola who popped in to show her support for the five-year-old who has stolen hearts across the borough.
Nicola - who drove up from her London base to attend the Pride in Oldham ceremony at which she was presented with a Special Recognition Award - spent time chatting to Millie and her gran Vicky Shaw and let Millie hang what must be one of the most precious baubles ever, her gold medal, on the store Christmas tree.
Vicky - who is spearheading the campaign to take Millie to Disney World Florida - said they had such an amazing day and meeting Nicola was an amazing experience.
"Millie had the best time ever with Nicola and the store managers, Andrew and Angela," said Vicky.
"Nicola bought Millie toys that she had picked from the store and they played shop, something we play at the weekend. Nicola brought goodies and a signed shirt for Millie."
Brave Millie, who lives in Moorside with mum Emma Clarke, has fought a lifetime of illness enduring more than 30 operations after being born with a rare form of spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Tesco stores across Oldham and larger stores throughout Greater Manchester will be raising money to send Millie, Vicky and Emma to America as soon as possible.
Tesco have also agreed to match whatever is raised by customers.
